FMO + CMA organised a Media Networking Dinner which was attended by reporters, journalists and producers from a range of print, online and broadcast media outlets.
The purpose was to engage in dialogue in order to build relationships, trust and look at ways to work with the media positively, going forwards.
We hope this will benefit Greater Manchester and beyond.
The roundtable discussions provided a valuable insight into how Muslims can contribute, feedback and help create content and shape narratives.
We hope this is one of many ongoing conversations. In order to capacity build, we also hope to organise media training for Muslims organisations IA.
We now have a database for press releases and statements and have provided a media trained contact list for media outlets, which we hope to develop further to support Muslim organisations.
