Thank you so much to those who attended our inaugural event at the British Muslim Heritage Centre. For those who were unable to attend, we missed you.
The Forum is a proposed collaborative platform designed to unite Muslim organisations across Greater Manchester. Its aim is to foster networking, shared learning, advocacy, and joint action to address community needs and promote social good, guided by Islamic values and best practice.
We were delighted to welcome around 75 representatives of Muslim organisations across Greater Manchester. The atmosphere was warm, inspiring and optimistic for greater collaboration! There was a genuine recognition that our current collective situation requires an urgent drive for greater unity of purpose and vision for change.
Two excellent presentations took place in the morning. The first was by Jehangir Malik on ‘Governance First Aid (Islamic Ethics)’ and the second was by Nasir Hafezi, Ehab Al Sharief and Dania Abul Haj on ‘Uniting Our Voice For Gaza.’
The talks, discussions and level of engagement were certainly impressive, Alhamdolillah.
We encourage all participants to please share learning points and outcomes with their respective committees, Trustees and organisations, in order to cascade good governance, safe advocacy and excellent practice.
We would like as many organisations as possible to join us and therefore ask for you to please spread the word and do feel free to recommend other Muslim organisations so that we can contact them.
